The Disc-shaped Suspended Porcelain Insulator is composed of iron cap, porcelain parts and steel feet, which are bonded together with cement adhesive. Before bonding, a soft gasket is placed on the top of the steel foot. The inner cavity of the iron cap and the steel foot are coated with asphalt layer at the contact point of cement adhesive, which mainly acts as a buffer to prevent the insulator from being damaged during thermal expansion and contraction. Porcelain is mainly used for insulation.
